Really? I downloaded this for free a few days ago, and it does not warrant even the $1.99 it sells for now. For crying out loud, it's only7 pages long. I bought full-length novels for that price.Half of it is a stupid (kinda) poem that keeps repeating the synopsis of the book, and the rest doesn't amount to much either.

The title and the cover are beautiful, and so was some of the prose - but seriously, did I miss something? Where is the book? I am the first to defend short stories and novellas - however, in this case, I felt a little abused, first tuned into a story and then when I thought it would start, it was over ! Not fair imo to tease a reader like that. Needs a little more editing and should go a little further.
Do people not get it, it clearly states a page count in the page. Please pay attention before ordering and them conplaining about the length.
This is a really short story that is good but then just ends and you want more. I got this just because of the cover alone and it looked like a good book but it could of been a little longer. ***Please look at my books (5 nail designs) & (Halloween Nail designs) By Laura Garcia.
I really enjoyed this tale of mystery and intrigue. What a delightful read!
I liked how Dudley gave us enough information that we felt apart if the mystery yet kept us guessing about the story's outcome.
I look forward to reading more stories by this author.
This short-short story revolves around an old, abandoned insane asylum known locally as the Hollowrock Mountain Inn. The local legend implies that once you check in, you'll never check out. Most of the locals believe the old building is haunted, and they all know better than to go poking their noses where they don't belong. However, every now and then a stranger going through the town will hike up the hill to check out the alleged "haunted house". Nobody can recall ever seeing them again, after that.
The tale takes a bit of a turn midway through, in what appears to be a flashback to a time when it was apparently just a regular hospital. But the ending has such a twist to it that you could hurt your neck if you're not careful!
This tale probably takes less than 10 minutes to read, but the ending makes the trip worthwhile. It's not deep, it doesn't require any amount of thinking, but it does have a really good surprise ending, so I have to recommend it for anybody who likes stories about ghosts, haunted houses, local legends, insane asylums, etc. It won't disappoint!
Fun quick read for a rainy afternoon. Interesting perspective for those who enjoy a ghost story with out the gore.
